Then, I had to go into the network setup in XP (my network places.properties, wireless adapter.properties) and tell it what ssid to connect to, etc.
Then, upon restart, when Windows XP "finds new hardware", tell it that you have the disc, and point it to the cd where the drivers reside (just make sure you chose the XP driver, there's also 98 and 2k on there). Scoobs, I had a similar problem except it didn't lock XP up completely, but I couldn't get through to anything on the control panel or "my network places" or any other "windows-type" panel like that.they would just hang and eventually switch to "not responding".Īnyway, after going through Level-I (aka useless) tech support and getting to Level-II (who were very helpful), they had me uninstall the WG311, drivers, and software. Since installing the WG311 my pc locks up about every half-hour (no mouse, keyboard etc) and nothing but a reboot of the pc works.
I have a WG311 PCI card connecting wirelessly to a DG834G router.
